PORTO DI TARANTO, 04 AUGUST 2023 - Taranto Port Days, the event promoted by the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea - Port of Taranto, which will be supported by the Jonian Dolphin Conservation (JDC) in the organisation of this fifth edition, is back, from 6 to 8 October. The event is also sponsored by the City of Taranto
It will be the JDC, the scientific research association that studies and protects cetaceans in the Gulf of Taranto, to collaborate with the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea in this new edition of the Taranto Port Days, whose programme - currently being finalised - promises to be, once again, particularly rich and varied, featuring amazing “musical surprises”.
As is now tradition, in fact, these will be three days full of events, exhibitions, shows, concerts and initiatives, under the banner of culture, sport and entertainment, capable of involving the entire city. The aim of the Taranto Port Days is to further develop the “port-city” relationship by making citizens familiarising with port activities and improving the integration of the port community with the territory.
Among the initiatives scheduled as part of the Taranto Port Days 2023 event there will also be the third edition of “Rock Port”, the contest launched for the first time two years ago, that will select the three emerging artists and bands that will perform on the event's stage during the final on Saturday 7 October (more information on the contest is available on the institutional website of the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea at the link: https://shorturl.at/jmFT3).
The Taranto Port Days 2023 is part of the national initiative “Italian Port Days - Opening port life and culture to people” promoted by Assoporti for 2023.
The Port Days will devote a special focus to the theme of port and sea professions/skills, also in line with the European Year identified by the EU and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Among the novelties of the 2023 edition of the event, the Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea and the JDC will work together for the “adoption” of a strongly symbolic place in the city that will become, thanks to the commitment of Taranto Port Days meant to last over time, a community square where good practices of urban regeneration will be implemented to combat social marginalisation, particularly that of young people.
